NG Bailey secures Old Guildford Hotel win
NG Bailey has secured a contract to help redevelop the Old Guildford Hotel for RMH Group in Guildford’s city centre.
Working in partnership with main contractor, Galliford Try, the Group will provide extensive M&E, heating, cooling, power, security systems, access and CCTV services for the prestigious 4 Star Radisson Edwardian hotel, due to open in 2011.
The project covers work on the front and back-of-house areas, including 185 bedrooms and 38 private apartments, kitchens, two stylish bars and restaurants, conference facilities, a luxurious heath spa and fitness suite and an underground car park.
“We’re already heavily involved in the design aspect of the project and will start on the site in September. Our proactive and value-engineering orientated approach helped us win the work,” said operations manager, Ian Simpson, who is responsible for overseeing the project.
The Group has previously worked with Galliford Try on The Blade in Reading and is currently working with the main contractor at West Kent College.
When completed, the hotel in Guildford will be a welcome addition to the Radisson Edwardian collection of luxury hotels located in central London, Heathrow and Manchester.
